The "run your engine on injector cleaner" stuff...

1)Where can I get this stuff?

2)How much is it?

3)Is there a 'better brand' to get?

4)Is it hard to do? (it just plugs into the schrader valve right?)

5)If the cleaner-in-the-tank stuff doesn't work after a couple tries, this is the logical next step before putting the car out of commition for the next few days, right?

(the reason I ask is, a few months ago, I made a bone-head move and only replaced 1 injector, so now I have one that flows great, and all the rest don't flow worth jack-**** and it's f'cking up my car.)

So help me out.

I wouldn't waste my money, I'd just pull them out and be done with it. Atleast its easy on the 2.8

But it's not as easy on a V-8 TPI car.

Say you pull them, now what?

He's right about NAPA carrying the can of cleaner but they don't have the hose to connect to the fuel rail. Oh and if you go there looking, the cans are behind the counter and about $20.

How do you connect it to the fuel rail? Am I right byb saying it connects to the schrader valve? Or do the fuel lines need to be disconnected?

2.8's aren't that easy to do it to... you need to take off the TV cable and throttle linkage and everything... This is a daily driver to get me to and from -everywhere- I need to go, so putting the car down is almost impossible, except maybe over a 10 day vacation... I also don't have the money for a spare set of injectors, I wish I did... perhaps I'll wait and just get a new set, these are going on 16 years old... (well, 5 of them are).

Is there a way that I could pull them all out and service the 5 crap ones so they flow better? Perhaps hooking them up to a power source to open them and then spray carb cleaner up the pintle? Any thoughts on this? I seem to remember a kit that you could buy where you could take them out and do it all yourself? Maybe I'm wrong? Any other suggestions?

(on a lighter note, I just found out that one of the hijackers of one of the 4 planes in the Sept 11th thing worked at a local gas station about a mile from my house. He gave me 3 dollars worth of gas the Friday morning before... I paid him in quarters cause thats all I had... boy do I feel wierd...)

TTT

BTW, a hijacker -didn't- work at that local gas station... it was his brother or something, they were look alikes and the FBI followed the lead here first, before they realized they were relatives only...
