Buying open element air filter, what do I need?

What do I need for this conversion for a 14" element, which is the best, and where do I put my PCV valve after the new element is on? Anybody have any HP gains from this, and how long should it take? Thanks.

Well I went out and bought a 14" Edelbrock Pro-Flo Chrome Open Air element. Now what?
How do I go about installing this?

Well, the pcv valve isn't connected to the air filter at all. Installation is simple enough. Remove the old one. To do this, remove the breather element, held in place by a clip. Then remove the vacuum hose running to the thermac. (That round thing on the snorkel) Then, remove the sensor that's sticking into the air filter. It kinda wiggles out if I remember. The new element just plops down into place. The breather can just be placed aside, as can the sensor, although you'd get more use out of it if you put it into the new air filter. It's probably got holes in the base that can be tapped out for this purpose. The vacuum hose that used to run to the thermac needs to be capped off.

Thanks for the replies guys. The only thing that is getting me is the blue AC sensor, and some other wire goieng up to the old element holder. What should I do with these?

Thanks for everyones help. I am finsihed and it sounds awesome! It also seems to pull harder too. Definately the best mod for my money so far. I just left the breather on the side of the air filter, just hanging there, so hopefully it should be ok. Again thanks!
