The reason I'm asking is because I saw this in the FAQ section

Bulletin #: 277142
Publish Date: 10/92
Models: 1984-1993 Firebirds w/ Hydra-matric 4L60/700R4 Trannys
Condition: buzzing noise from tranny at idle (more so when in reverse)
Cause: pressure regulator valve oscillating due to oil pressure instability at lower idle RPM
Correction: a new pressure reg. valve has been made to improve oil pressure stability at lower RPM (part #8684048)

Its says Firebirds, but my camaro has the same tranny(700R4) and same symptoms. Its only a $23 part, which is cheap considering GM part prices. I'm going to be changing my tranny fluid soon anyway.

Left T,

It can be repalced without removing the transmission. The design is similar to the older TH350.

As for GM parts prices, they generally aren't that high, except on commodity-type items like filters and similar supplies that can found at any discount parts store. They don't often run parts sales promotions in the GM parts system, so you can usually find common items cheaper somewhere else.

The rest of the parts can be a real bargain. A rebuild gasket set from Fel-Pro lists at $293.00, while an OEM set from GM is $191.00. That's a pretty good chunk o' change. Spark plug wire sets are the same. Packard Electric Division OEM wire sets can be about $40.00-$100.00 depending on the application, and I've priced Accel sets (which are possibly almost as good quality) for a lot more. Try getting Accel wires for an Opti-Spark LT1, and you'll walk funny for weeks.
