Trouble with A/C

When I turn on the A/C the clutch on the compressor will cycle on and off every 10-15 seconds.

As far as I can tell the air is noticeably colder...although it seems like its not as cold as it should be. Its pretty hard to tell since its hotter than hell where I'm at and the T-tops and black vinyl dashboard make for a pretty good greenhouse effect.

I'm probably gonna take it in to an A/C service shop for an inspection. Any ideas on what to check or what the prob may be would be greatly appreciated. This way I'll know if the mechanics are trying to rip me off.

Well theres only two possible causes for that. Either the system is still 1/2lb low or the pressure switch thinks its low.

Its been quite awhile since the last time I had the A/C recharged.

Thanks for the tip!

Axle/Gears: I'm working on it,lol.
Have you checked the air temp coming out of your vents using a thermometer. Check that temperature against the recommended temp listed in your manual. It should be somewhere between 45-65 degrees.
