i was thinking some sportsman 2 heads but what would have to be done to the stockers to make them work till i get the new heads i have hooker shortys dual exaust with race bullets its going to be a summer daily driver and race on weekends not sure what cam. rpm2000-5500 i have a turbo 400 with a 3500 stall and shift kit but am not sure if i want to put that in just yet. what i really just want to do is get the motor back in the car so i can drive it some more this summer and save some cash to get the heads later and i dont want to have to pull the motor agian to put the new pistons in.

the sportsmanII heads are a good choice so are the dart iron eagles. you can make a lot of power with these heads.I would run the 10.3:1 compression with a comp xe284h cam, preformer rpm intake,750carb(holley),dart or world products heads 200cc port 64cc chamber, hooker (long tube) headers or at least headman headers. shorty headers dont scaveng very well at all and the collectors are to short to flow well. a good set of rods and a crank and your done this will make 500hp. with your th400 and 3500rpm converter this would be a good match. you will need 3.73 or lower gears
