350 heads will it work

i was wondering if you can put 350 heads on a 305 motor will it work if it wiil what will be the poweer increases and what will the compression be will i still be able to run pump gas????

Yes you can put them on. There will be only power losses. Compression will be veeerrryyy low. You can run pump gas. The chambers on 350 heads are 76cc (most factory) 305 have 58 or 64, I can't remember which. This will drop your compression to the "make no power at all area." The valves are a little larger, but with the 305's small bore, the valves will be severely shrouded. In short, don't use them.

what about 305 heads on 350? higher compression??

Yeah it will be higher, but you trade that for smaller valves. I measured some at one time to be 1.74-I, 1.50-E. The static ratio will be higher, but do to the fact that the little valves wont let in as much air/fuel, the VE will drop.

All 305 heads are 58cc chambers. 3rd gen 305's have 1.84/1.50 valves.

305 heads on a dished-piston 350 might be okay, but would require some bowl and other work to really flow decent. Probably not worth it since real 350 heads are plentiful.
