Anyone know what TC dust cover will work will a 700r and 400sb.

The flywheel diameter is larger and the stock one wont work. Ive been told that the trucks might have one that will fit.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what will fit. Make, year, model, ect.

There has to be one that will work.

You're right. The stock one won't fit. Just did a 400 swap in place of stock 350. The larger 168 tooth flywheel will rub on the cover.

If you don't find a solution don't sweat it. I have run without covers for probably a zillion miles total on various cars with no flywheel cover. They're not exactly critical pieces.

Practically any non-4WD truck with a 700 will have the right cover. Try something like a 87 pickup if you want to order a new one.

I don't use one either. My main reason is that it traps heat in there. Without one on the air can get in there and cool the converter a little.

Yeah IM not too worried about it. The better cooling makes sence. Doesnt it keep dirt out of the tranny seal or something? The tranny went out when I was having the chip dyno tuned. So I thought I would throw one on the new tranny. It has to last me awhile.

RB..would it matter what motor size?

Small block, with 2-piece RMS... I erred, 87 might not work because of the 1-piece RMS, try getting the one for a 83-85 P/U with 305.

I had a clutch explode in a car once because I didn't have the dust shield. A piece of road debris flew up into there. Of course an auto doesn't have a clutch, but still, you've got something spinning at crank speed in a very exposed location. IMHO the tiny cooling difference isn't worth it. If you want better TC cooling, get a trans cooler, and keep the moving parts covered.
