The temp sensor in the passenger side head on an 89 5.7.....is that the one for the guage or for the secondary fan?

The plug on mine was completely burnt and falling apart...all that was left of it was the pin in the center. I got another connector off of the harness from another car. I plugged it into the sensor and soldered the ends of the wires together from the old and new wires.

I started the car and let it run at idle for about 5-6 minutes with the A/C on and the temp only went up to about 130* or so....normally it would go higher. Did I screw up splicing my wires or is that for the secondary fan and maybe that kicked on and was keeping the engine so cool?

That's what I thought it was too.....it's the one with the large black sleeve plug on it, not the blade on in the driver side head....just to clarify for anyone else.

I'm wondering if the secondary fan is just working correctly now and keeping the engine cooler....that would be an added bonus.
