Hesitation/Bog please help

Well I have replaced my plugs, fuel filter, and added a 14" Edelbrock open air element, and my car idles at 750 when cold, then goes down to 500rpms. Sometimes when I put it in drive it wants to stall. Only when the car is first started up it makes a HUGE hesitatoin like it is in neutral, but after driving it for a while it runs fine. Sometimes after I drive it for a while, turn it off for 5 minutes, then turn it back on again, it wants to stall, and sometimes it does. It takes about 4 seconds for it to start in the mornings. It once made a loud "sucking" noise and the rpms were at 300 trying to not stall out, and the red light, "INFL. REST" came on, what is that? Then it stalled.
I thought it was a plug misfiring, but the conditions don't seen right for it. Could this be a fuel pump? What is causing this?

Well I took the car out and put some carb cleaner in the tank and "blew out the carbon"
Anyways, I was noticing that when she coasts, the RPM's fluctuate a lot under 1k rpms. Like hen I'm doing 35, and I let off the gas, the rpms go from 750-500, and you can hear the engine doing this as well. Could I just need my timing adjusted?

I use a Holley but the other day mine acted crazy like that. It would smoke when I revved it. I decided to check the float bowls. They were way off. I guess it was starving for fuel. Mine would surge also. This fixed my problem.

Does anyone know what that red light, "INFL. REST." means? And could I just need my timing adjusted, or is it running right?
And where are the float bowls and how do i check them? Thanks.

Has anyody had this kind of experience with their car? I was just wondering because it is approaching winter, and I don't want my baby to leave me stranded somewhere. Again, this hesitation only happens when the engine is cold, after that, it runs like it's new. Is it a fuel pump? Thanks!

The infl rest light had something to do with the air bag system. For your hesitation problem I would change the fuel filter (good to do before winter anyway) and check the fuel pressure. Sounds like its starving for gas.

yeah my car does that all the time..

i have to pump the gas floor it at least 10 times then turn it and when it starts hold it at 2000 rpms to keep it from dyin, for a minute then it stays on, but at 750rpm maybe, sometimes goes to 600..

in drive, then in neutral 800...

it has died on me before letting off the gas, i adjusted the idle speed higher to like 1200 it...

just set your idle higher.. should work good.

i am going to have to do that soon too.

Thanks guys, I'll try those. Do you really think this can be caused by the idle? Because when I do get it started, it goes to 1000 rpms, then down to 500, and that is where it stays. Someone also told me to check my IAC?? Thanks!
