fuel pressure loss
fuel pressure loss
driving down the road, no signs of troubles and the car shuts off with zero fuel pressure. everything electrical still works, car tries to turn over but obviously won't start with the lack of fuel. the obvious signs are there but i'd like to get some opinions on things to check.
the pump is a walbro 255 340 racetronix kit which is 2 years ( 3,400 miles) old.
running 60 psi though if it matters..

if the pump is that new it should not be bad, a defective unit should have worked itself out by now, but hey u never know.
check all lines, fittings, replace filter, and the fuel pump fuse.

On the left side near the firewall is the fuel pump prime connector. Red wire with a single brown connector Apply 12 volts to the connector. If the fuel pump runs it's gonna be a circuit problem like a relay, fuse, ops, power supply and more. If it doesn't run then check for 12V at tank with 12v supplied to the connector. If it is there and no pressure. pumps bad and or something came loose at pump to sender.
great suggestions... thanks!
if anyone has anything else i appreciate it. i'll check that out for sure. the pump isn't new exactly as it's 2 years old with limited use but new enough i would assume to not fail. while 60 psi is high i thought it was in the ability of the pump. anythings possible though.
appreciate it.

Do you hear it turn on? Maybe get down by the gastank and have someone turn the ignition on, you should be able to hear/see/feel something. Maybe the filter needs to be changed. You could check the fuel psi at the fuel rail to prove all that out, if not then work backwards from there. I've had a similar problem before, was driving great then just died out of nowhere. Turns out it was power related and the pump wasnt working, great introduction to the crackhead wiring mess of the previous owner or his mechanic. Good advice up top there, definately use the DVM to test.

If it is, do not just install any hose you have laying around. It needs to be high pressure and okay to be immersed in gasoline.
Best of luck, Ed www.edgesz28.com
