code 15 CTS

whats with this code? my coolant gauge is pegged and i installed a new coolant temperature sensor thinking it would fix the problem, which it didnt. after installing the edelbrock manifold its been pegged. i checked the wire all the way back, and i checked the little thing that plugs into the block between cylinder 1 and 3. everything seemed fine. what could be causing this? did i forget to install a ground back on my manifold? when i tried to start my car after in put the manifold on when the timing was wayy off is when the gauge first pegged, that was back when the distributor was put in wrong, and gas was sputtering out of the carb with the alternator squeeling. could i have damaged the computer? any help would be greatly appreciated.

You change the sensor on the termostat housing, that give the coolant temp. to the ECM, it has nothing to do with the temp gauge. The sensor for the gauge is the one on the head between cyl. 1 & 3. Check the connection first, then try to connect the wire from the gauge sensor to the ground or to the positive, the needle of the gauge must go to the bottom or to the full hot, if not change the gauge, otherwise change the sensor (drain coolant first)

Make sure that you have a ground strap from the engine to the firewall still.

ground strap? geez that little area behind the engine in front of the firewall area scares me; theres no room to see or work on anything. what is there that i may have overlooked? when i put the manifold on, i may have forgotten a ground. you said the ground strap is in the area of the distributor?
