another "wont start" question

i just got back from Iraq and went to go pick up my Camaro from storage. When i got there the guy told me he was having problems with my batt the whole time i was gone. I went ahead and bought a batt, needed one anyway. he also said after he moved it up to the ready line he couldnt get it to turn over. I checked all the basics, im thinking its the coil. im fixin to go test the coil, i was just wandering if anyone had some other ideas of what it might be.

batt is good
fuel is pumping fine
cranks just fine

Just wont catch a spark!

if coil is fine, check module the module. Try your best not to get an autozone/advance module. they seem to klast like a couple years then just die. Get a decent brand. Mine is by accell, but its an aftermarket performance replacement, not an oem get her running replacement.

If your coil and module check out then check your cap for extreme corrosion.

ok here are my test results

TACH to BATT 0 OHM
TACH to SECONDARY infinite OHM
GROUND to SECONDARY 12-14 OHM

Hopefully someone can lead me in the right direction, my haynes book says to only replace it if both TACH to SECONDARY and GROUND to SECONDARY are both infinite

what do you think, maybe its not the Coil?

check module, take it to autozone, they test for free.

like ui said coil is good, but its never a bad thing to replace, newer is always better. with age resistance hgets higher. and things are less dependable. However those numbers say its good.

Get your module checked, Its no harder then removing the cap and rotor. Its right below the rotor in FI engines. If its carb, i dont know if there is a module still. Man, just noticed its an 84 as well.

Well, it doesn't get spark and coil is good. check your pickup. All the easy things first, before yiou start replacing things. Cant ever hurt anyways.
