Many options for the AC for LTX.

1)Get a corvette LT1

2) Goto bowersrodshop.com and get the LT1 relocation kit for $250, get 92 V6 A/C lines

3)Notch or put an indention into the frame to get the AC compressor to fit. Buy an AC adapter at carquest. Total cost: around $40

4) Get aftermarket pulleys and brakets to relocate everything (about $1000)

5) Get corvette pulleys and brakets (expensive new)

I went with option #2. I didn't want to modify the frame in any way and it was the cheapest alternative to modifying the frame. A lot of people do option #3 b/c that don't mind modifying their frame. Option #1 - If you have a corvette LT1 you dont have to worry about A/C lines but with the Vette the fuel lines were on the wrong side.

All this information i learned in the LTX and LSX forum in the Engine Swap forum or on my own.

Um, why won’t a 700r4 work with an LS1? All you have to do is add a stud at the appropriate distance from the TB pivot to the throttle linkage to hook up the TV cable, the part might even exist to work with the GMPP manifold that is supposed to use that TB on vortec heads…

The LT1/LS1’s use one PCM that does the whole power train, engine, ignition, tranny…

The LS1 is not reverse cooled. GM gave up on that because of stupid owners and service people, not because it doesn’t work.

Power per $... well, it depends… the LS engines have killer stock heads compared to anything that came before them (really, the rest of the setup is pretty lame… you need a ZO6 or truck block to get a proper bottom end under it), so if you’re starting with a stock engine in each case and have little more to spend the LS will make the most power per $. Past that, it depends on how well you spend your $, when it comes down to it if you can spend a few $$$ a traditional SBC will do the best power/$ wise, and LT1 will be a close second since ultimately you can convert most of what will make the power on the traditional SBC to work on the LT1.

LT1 vs 4… never got the point. The conversion is expensive, more expensive then a set of AFR heads that would flow more and make more power on the LT1 then the LT4 setup

LS1 with 700R4 can work. Knyghtmare has the combo on his car.

Knyghtmare's quote from https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...ight=ls1+700r4

The 700R4 will indeed bolt right up to the LS1 with the exception of missing one bolt which is no concern. No you will not need a bellhousing adapter plate. All you need to worry about is your spline, between the older and newer 700R4s. If you have an older 700R4 or you are using an LT1 TC than you will need a flexplate adapter, which you can get online or any machine shop can make. Its about as round as a CD and a 3/4 of an inch wide and all it does is allows the shorter rear shaft on the TC to fit into the back of the LS1 flexplate. If you have a newer 700R4 you can use an LS1 TC... or an LT1 TC, but then you would need the adapter. I run an LT1 TC with the adapter.

To get your 700R4 to work with the LS1 computer correctly without the computer throwing a code when it cant find the 4L60E is you will need to have your PCM flashed to a Manual PCM instead of the Auto.
