Difference between HO and non 305?

Whats the difference between a High Output 305 and a non HO 305? Would it be easy to convert a non HO to a HO?

Dual snorkel air cleaner, different carb tune, different computer programming, aluminum intake, better exhaust system, bigger cam, higher compression (some years).

It isn't the best idea to convert when a few aftermarket parts will have you well above the 190hp the HO engine had.

Agreed... the HO had better parts than the base 305 did, but the aftermarket offers much better parts than what the HO came with.

If you go to the top of the message boards and click on the "FAQ" section, there is an excellent thread written by five7kid that covers the differences between 305's and also has links to other good threads on this topic.
