it snapped right down at the thread....

what can i do guys?

There are like brand new bolts.

My valve covers are stock lt1 valve covers, with the baffles removed for 1.6 roller rockers.

And i tried to bolt one down, and it started screaching, and then snap. It broke in half right down near the bottom.

Has anyone else ever done this?

Plus tomorow i gotta pull the intake and replace the gaskets tomorow.

Hopefully i'll be running nicely tomorow.

sounds like you need to drill out the old bolt ( I can't see what you have going on there so???? ) get shorter bolts. when I went to afr heads I had to use shorter bolts I would guess the heads you have are the same way.

now take the bolt and screw it in the head by hand till it bottoms out. look at how far it went in the head. now you know how deep the hole in the head is and you can take this length and take minus at least a few threads.

look at the tube in you valve covers (the one the bolt goes into)

you only need a max of your new thread count (the length you just figured will go in the head) sticking out of that tube when the bolt is in the valve cover

the cover bottoms out the tubes on the head when you tighten it down

You're only supposed to tighten those bolts to like 8ft-lbs
