full groove rod bearings

When I took my engine apart I had full groove rod bearings, but the bearings that I got aren't grooved. Is it necessary to have the groove? Someone told me no. thanks

I have rebuilt many small block chevys and never once had a grooved rod bearing, grooved mains, but not rods.

You do not want fully grooved bearings. They are a horrible design based upon endurance and durabilty.
