LT 1 cam, clear this up

I see alot of you using LT1 cams, or thinking about it. Do I understand it right, that I can use the LT1 cam with my stock valve train, (springs, lifters, etc.) and no other changes? If so what year cam should I be looking for or does someone have a specific part #. Sounds like a great mod but I want to be sure.

Right, the LT1 cam has the right lift to not mess up your stock valvetrain. Any one should work, so hit up a 4th genner for his used one. Watch out for the dowel pin length on the front, you might have to cut or grind it down to match your stock cam.

I replaced the peanut cam in my LO3 with the LT4 cam which is about the same as all the other LT1 cams. You do not have to replace anything else unless you want to. I would replace the timing set unless it's a low milage car. It pulls much better with the cam change.

Thanks a lot. That's what I was hoping to hear. Now I can start hunting for one.
