Plastic Body Panels?

I just read a post Vader replied to about ODB's car being so light. Anyone have any ideas how expensive these parts would be.

Plastic = fiberglass reinforced plastic, or plain "fiberglass" as some people call it. There are some panels available on some cars that are a reaction-injection molded plastic with no glass fiber reinforcement, and some panels that are plain ABS plastic. Most aftermarket panels made as non-metallic replacements are glass reinforced, however.

Sorry about the confusion, but it's all plastic to me, regardless of what is mixed in. In either case, some of them are fairly light compared to their steel counterparts. Some of them are also just as heavy as stamped steel (a.k.a, Covettes). There are some complete aftermarket front-end shells that are a one-piece molding that are super-light, but also afford no protection and structural advantages.

J.C. Whitney has one-piece front ends for early year ThirdGens for about $600.00, or just the hoods for about $400.00.

Thanks for the info. Also the front end for $600 does that include the hood. Would it still have the slots for the louvers. Like you said about the strength of it, would this be a bad idea for a daily driver. How much weight would the whole front end save me?
Thanks in advance for any info.
