Non-3rd gen. 91 lumina 3.1.

Well I'm a dumbass and ran my lumina out of gas last night.I was on my way home at 1 in the morning and no money on me and I'm hot rodding around cause there arent any cars around. Well I go around this on ramp going pretty damn fast and when i start to acellerate onto the highway my car starts stumbling. ****!. Well I'm about 3 miles from the closest gas station, and about 6 mi to my house so i decide to go to that gas station. well the gas station is about 2 miles farther away from my house. Now the car wont rev over 2grand so i'm doing 30mph on the highway.Well I get to the station and lo and behold, its closed. well, at first the car wont even start but I finally get it to move after about a half dozen tries. I drove it about 3 miles and it dies and wont start. So I hiked to my house, put a gas can in another car, drove back to my car, filled it with gas, then drove back to my house, walked back again to my car and finally got home a 3 o'clock.

The car is a 91 lumina with a 3.1 and 280,000mi. on it. so it doesnt run all that good anyway, but now the car stumbles on the highway just before the point wher it will kick down. I am set againist using fuel additives but in this case I think some fuel injestor cleaner is in order. What do Y'all think?

You have walked onto the biggest baddest dog porch and you will be dealt with accordingly.

I'd rather be historically accurate than politically correct!

Assuming you have an in tank fuel pump.

You may have burned the pump up, since the fuel acts like a coolant.

You may have picked up some junk on the bottom of the tank, and it fouled the fuel pump screen, and or filter.

I would start by doing a fuel pressure test no less, replace fuel filter.
