mystery trickflow heads...any help?

Brother in law has these heads he got used:

SN23740-2

SN23745-2

Story goes that a guy with an older Camaro had them (thinking early Camaro) and had ALOT of port work done to them. He used them for a few months before going to a different combo. These heads are spotless and abasolutely gorgeous...and he's willing to sell them to me for 700 bones. Any idea what they are or if they're a good deal?

I'd be looking to run them on a 87 350 block - undecided on intake yet.

Thanks!

yeah - emailed their customer support last night. Thought some thirdgen drivers might have used their heads and seen the numbers though.

Just be VERY LEARY of used heads that your not familiar with.I got a "killer" deal on a set of used Brownfields once,(the company that became AFR)with awesome port work, looked like really sweet heads.Within 45 seconds of firing up a brand new engine, the drivers side head dropped a seat, snapped the head off the valve, ruined 5 pistons,1 head,1 rod,and split the cylinder,in turn ruining the block.

I'm not saying don't buy them, just get them cheap enough you can have them COMPLETELY gone through.I won't even run a used valve anymore If I'm not completely sure of their history.

Thanks!

I got an email back and this is what they said:

These are the 1st generation head. A good head, but they are probably at
least 8 years old, and some parts are no longer made (guideplates, etc), so
if they need service, find out what they need first.

I'm going to see about having them gone through to make sure all is in order before I lay down any of my own money. Maybe he'll let them go cheaper since they're kindof discontinued.

Any idea if these will mount up to an 87+ 350 block?

They wil mount to the block, intake will need grinding mods.Didn't mean to discourage,I just know firsthand the dangers of second hand cylinder heads.Hope it works out for ya.
