What would I expect to pay a shop to do a complete rebuild on my Lb9 305 TPI?

Im guessing this would consisit of all new seals, bearings, gaskets. new rings (not sure on pistons?) new cam, and head rebuild?

Or would I be better off buying a new rebuilt 305 already and just dropping it in? I wanna keep it as close to stock as possible, with the exception of a mild cam to give a little more rumble.

If a rebuild wasnt around 500.00 then I would start to save my money for other things. Unless you were worried about gas prices.

Honestly, don't bother rebuilding the 305. Forget a mild cam and "rumble", upgrade the engine.

Look at these guys' http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/ VIN 8 engine. My brother got one from them, absolutely loves it.

This, of course, after establishing why you think you need the engine rebuilt/replaced.
