sorry i dont know what these are and could be one problem to my problems right now. you said you have to change the distributor EST module, ESC module, knock sensor and ECM PROM when changing form a 305 to a 350 in one of your articles. i know what a knock sensor but what is the rest of the items that you named? anyone?

The EST module is in the base of the distributor. The ESC is on the firewall behind the brake booster on some cars. The PROM is located in the ECM, above the passenger side footwell.

The EST module is supposed to be calibrated to interface with the EST, but there is some speculation as to whether this is true or not.

The ESC (Electronic Spark Control) is calibrated to work with the detonation (knock) sensor, and there is also speculation that there is really no difference between the 305 and 350 ESC units. I'm sure some people have made the swap and kept the EST and ESC from the 305 with little trouble.

The PROM, however, is very specific to the displacement, and must be changed to maintain the proper spark and fuel curves.
