Newbie with code 43 Q.....

I've been reading posts about the 43 code, and not finding a situation like I have, so I figured I'd ask you all what might be going on....

Car is an 88 formula 350. Since I bought it, had issues with cold starts... flooding. But always started, just blew smoke of unburnt fuel for a moment before clearing out.

Anyways, the car sat for a few weeks due to other problems (cooling), and when I finally got the hoses replaced and tried to start it, I had to use the flood bypass method, and the car will NOT run now.

Basically, 3 times now I've messed with it, and it never threw a code. On Monday, I replaced the CTS and gave it another shot. Still wouldn't run, but this time as it died, it FINALLY threw a code (43).

Car will start with the flood bypass, but will NOT stay running unless I am in the throttle. When I let off the gas, it doesn't buck, shudder, anything else, it just dies. When I am in the throttle, it runs fine. No missing, shuddering, etc. Sounds perfect, just won't run if I let my foot off the gas.

Any help is appreciated!!
