Extremely Hot EGR

Car: 1987 Camaro RS
Engine: V-6 2.8
Extremely Hot EGR

Hello,

In the last week I had a tune-up completed on my 1987 RS V-6. I ran codes and recieved a EGR vault. EGR valve was also changed.

Still had backfiring and stalling problems. Found out that my ignition control module might be bad and bought a new one and installed it. In the meantime I also changed the PCV and checked my thermosat. The thermosat was broken so I put a new one in.

Today I was checking out everthing under the hood and ran my hand over the EGR. Found out it was piping hot.

Is this normal for the EGR valve to be this hot or did I do something wrong?

normal it circulates exhaust gas

If your exhaust isnt hot you have problems
