No Coolant Flow

I have a '86 2.8L Camaro, the bottom rad hose is warm, the top rad hose is cold. I replaced 2 195 deg. t-stat, checked the pump & rad, they seem Ok. I have heat in the car. It seems like the t-stat is not opening. I'm going to take out the t-stat this Friday and see what happens. I have a temp lite, it comes on. What else can cause this?

sounds like your tstat, but maybe you're not checking the hoses while the car is running. if you are, then it could be a broken water pump.

I'm checking it with it running, I pulled the pump out, it's Ok, plus I got heat, I don't think I would have heat if the pump was bad. If it flows with no t-stat, then I'm going to put 2 holes in the 195 and try again. If that fails I'll buy a 180, that better work!

most likely u have dirty radiator or ur fans aren't coming on or something like that, flush it out, put in some coolent system cleaner and see what happens, also MAKE sure your fans are comming on. if u have to replace ur therm. again, get the generation 2 from autozone, its for engines with coolent problems, it flows more.

when is it overheating? city driving? highway etc?

It overheats just idling. The fan came on once or twice. The 195 should not cause the temp lite to come on...but. I'll know Friday if it flows Ok with it out. If Not it has to be the rad.
