Air pump noise?

I recently have been hearing a pulsing tick or clacking from under the hood. What kind of noise does an air pump make when they start going bad? I'm familiar w/ lifter noise and bottom end noise. This not that type of sound. It's too loud to be the injectors clicking.

I have the same noise, Thought it was the lifters or injectors but it turns out its my air pump. Don't know what it means but your not alone.

I have an air "putting" noise coming from my Air Pump (I believe) It almost sounds like an exhaust manifold leak. I am removing my Smog pump this week. Then I will know for sure.

That's a good description, "air pushing noise". Seems like a good bet that, that the air pump is the problem.

Update>>>>> I removed the pump, and the noise stopped.
Hope this helps
