What happens if u drive with blown head gasket?
I think I blew my head gasket cause white smoke was pouring out of my exhaust and the car was running ruff... I had to get to work so i just kept driving it... For about 3 kilometers... What kind of damage could that have done to it?
well depends on how bad it is. if its bad enough the water can get in ur oil. Or oil gets in ur water making it run hotter. Just depends. I know u dont want water in ur oil though.
givin you drive it only in emergency situations it should be OK, if your daily driving it all the time i can seize the engine, anti-freeze has the same consistance of sugar, and when its bured will crystalize in the bores and start scoring everything up, in otherwords fix the small problem now that can turn into a VERY large problem down the road.
i blew a head gasket on a 97 contour and it was pushing out all the coolent....must have been blown between the cyl anda h2o jacket. Would not go 1/4 mile before red lining the temp gauge.

Well if it was only 3 klicks, then you likely didn't do too much, if any, damage. Just don't drive it anymore!! It just isn't worth trashing the entire engine.... Like others have said, the mixing of the oil in the coolant and/or the coolant in the oil is a great way to destroy bearings and overheat the engine - making it nothing but an expensive boat anchor.
Since you only mentioned the white smoke, it seems that you might have only blown or burned the gasket enough to get the coolant into the cumbustion chamber and not into the oil (lesser of the evils). If this is the case, a simple head gasket replacement (along with resurfacing the heads and checking everything for cracks and finding out exactly why it failed - ie. parts failure?, engine ran too lean?, etc..) may get you back on the road. Check the oil for signs of coolant and the coolant (in the radiator) for signs of oil contamination to see just how bad of a problem you have.....
Get it home and tear it down and make sure you didn't crack a head or something else worse than a head gasket... Head gasket failure isn't the only way to get coolant into the cumbustion process....
