Getting off gas cap that has a lock w/o a key?
I know this is going to sound retarded, but on my one car, I somehow managed to lose the key for the locking gas cap. Any idea how to get it off? Its a Stant if that helps at all

I dont want to damage the body around it or the neck. I dont care about the cap. I was going to replce it with a normal cap, but never did. DAMN IT!
I was thinking about taking a screwdriver and just jamming it into the lock. Think that would work? Worst comes to worst is I break it up into pieces.

I took a flathead screwdriver and drove in the lock with a hammer and then just twisted the cap off. Worked fine.

Got it off. What I did was took a flathead and just turned the lock as if I was using the key. What a piece of ****. totally worthless. Anyways, now its fixed so instead of handing him a key, I hand him a flathead.
