Mod suggestions needed!!
89 GTA 305TPI, 5 spd--- From what I know the car is completely stock except for K&n Air Filter. I changed plugs, wires, distributor cap and button on Sunday. Just as PM. Used AutoZone Gold wires, cap and button with Delco standard resistor plugs. I removed Autolite wires and plugs. Car seems like it ran better before. So now I am looking at return all the AutoZone junk and installing an Accel 140011 coil, Accel 8865 wires, Accel 8132 cap and button. Looking at the Delco Rapidfire platinum 2 plugs but need suggestions. These are supposed to make the car idle smoother, but I leary of this BS. How are the Accel plugs, champion plats or NGK plats. Need suggestions. I'm not lookin for a rocket, just something that I can pound every now and then. I also don't want to mess with my ECU. I'm not throwing any codes and want to stay that way.

Buy the best plugs u can get.....They are worth the $ at only a few bucks a pop.
Make double sure u hooked everything back up right. It most def should not be running worse. I did that same kind of tune up on my camaro when i first got it. It ran fine when i got it, i did the tune up and it ran like new. It could rev all the way to about redline and fall all the way back down without a sputter or anything.
Better coil shoud help. I would just go with proven performance. Check out stuff from MSD. They know what they are talking about. A couple extra bucks, but then THAT part of your car isdone forever, and you can move on to more fun things like rims or suspention.

Thanks,
Its not exactly running bad, just seemed to have more power before. The wires that came off were 7.5mm and the ones back on are cheapy7mm's. Plus I went fromthe platinum autolites to the old resistor delcos. Probably just me being cheap. Gotta keep the wife happy. But what about the plugs? expensive doesn't always mean good! look at the Boschs. The can be pricy and they're junk. I bought a new BMW M3 in 97 that ran like **** , took it into the shop and the Bimmer mechanic, told me to throw them away and never put Bosch into anything. Are the Accel plugs worth having or should I go with the Delco Rapidfire platinums or NGK plats? The car only has 111,000 orig miles

Well I dunno what plugs you "should" put in. I am just saying that I put in those BOCH +4s Platinumns... and the car ran like a stated before up until I started my buildup. I pulled them out and they looksed great. Ran them through blisards 95 degree summer and so on.. Just my experience.

Thanks again,
I'll figure it out as I go along. I built three 400BB ponchs for my 77 TA's and always used the delco plats with no problem, so I may goe that route. The MSD stuff is good, but I have to order and I can get the ACCEL stuff now. Typical Amercian wanting instant gratification
Another thing is I may have gotten used to having power and with this 305 stock, it may just feel slow
