I need help. I just changed from Cumputer controled carb and dist to a regular HEI and Edelbrock carb. Now I dont have any spark to the spark plugs, but I do have 12 volts to the dist. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

did you plug the coil in the top of the disty? there should be 3 plugs that go into the cap and actually plug into the coil... if you have the two outside ones reversed it will not work. Also if none of them are plugged in then it will not work (except for the tac.... (the one closest the firewall on the outside..)

looking top down it should be like this

|----|--------|
| | | <------Tach
| | |
| |--------|
| | |
| | | <------12v i believe
|----|--------|

from base of disty (ICM and pickup i believe)

I do believe that is how it is.. at least that is how it is on my non CC HEI disty.

Also If you bought the things used it is always a good idea to rebuild the thing. just to make sure everything is top notch.. Like Cap/coil/ICM/Pick-up/Rotor/Mech advance springs/vac advance canister.. That way the disty in in top notch working order. (I am doing all that as I type.. Last thing needed is the springs for the mech advance, and then an adjustable vac advance can.... Went and bought everything else. but they did not have the springs i wanted nor and vac advance cans that were adjustable.

Never mind I found the problem. The capacitor in the dist was bad. What a headache that was to figure out.
Well now I have a rebuilt HEI I guess since I replaced everything in it
Now on to the next phase of the project.
