Need opinions on a 350
I am having some problems getting torque down low. All mods are listed in my sig, I have also replaced my dizzy weights, used one light and one heavy spring inside, set my adj vac advance to 12* and set my base timing to 12* and retuned my carb. I know that I need heads, stall converter, gears and so on but before I start adding these on I want to be sure my engine is running good as it is right now. My best time in the 1/8 was 9.8 @72 mph but my 60' times are 2.4-2.5 When I stomp it from a dead stop I dont have enough power to break traction. I am running shorties and a bigger cam so I know I wont have killer bottom end power but shouldnt I still have enough on tap to break traction? I just want to make sure my engine is at what it should be for my mods before going further.
What gears you have? Stock stall conveter? I had a stock L98, ported the heads, put an out of tune edelbrock 600 on, had way too much gearing, and would run 9.8 in the 1/8, with probably 2.7sec 60fts from spinning like crazy. If you hav a stock drivetrain setup (2.73's, 1500ish rpm stall) that could be why your tires wont break loose. Can you spin them if you power brake?

Yeah if I power break it or stomp it while making a turn from a stop it will break loose. Im not into burning my tires off I just want to be sure my car is acting like it should before I go further.
