Hesitation about 4,300 rpm.. please help
I thought it was my coil, but have replaced that with the Accel Super Coil. I know think it could be mr Holley 750 double pumper.
It is only when you have your foot fully down and the revs get to 4000 or so and you can actually hear it sort of clacking (best way of describing it) I did 700 miles last week and thought it may clear but it hasn't. Also when you are going say 20 mph and put your foot down a little (say half throttle) there is an induction back fire. This is followed by a highway speed problem of the throttle sticking at speeds of 70-80 mph. If you tap the throttle again it is ok again. Then maybe 10 mins later its fine again.
Could it be a float sticking? Could it be my timing?
Please help, the car runs well aprt from that and it is beginning to pee me off now. Thanks

To me it sounds as though you're getting too much fuel at low RPM and not enough at higher RPM. Although there is a small possiblility of a timing issue. I would check my timing and then look at the carburetor first. Accelerator pump(s), jetting etc. If you still can't get it worked out put up another post.

Thanks man, I'll check it out and let ya know. It isn't too bad on the street as I hardly ever need to use that kind of power but you really notice it at the strip.
Cheers
