i have something to go along with this. Since the ECM will set a code when flow is more then 45 Grams per second when TPS is less then 1/4 throttle or RMPS less then 2000. then couldn't this code set when a TPS isn't adjusted correctly?

Yes, there are several factors besides the MAF that can cause a code 33. Start by swapping the two MAF relays and see if the code changes. Next, check your TPS, making sure that base voltage is .56vdc and wide open throttle is over 4.00vdc. this is done with the key on, engine off and the voltage should rise and fall smoothly as you open and close the throttle body. Then check the intake for loose clamps, cracks or tears. A leak there will cause the MAF and the TPS to show different readings and throw a code. I'm sure the are other things I'm missing but the point is this: Yes, code 33 is a MAF code, but rarely is it the cause of the code. It's better to try all the other less expensive things first. Hope this helps.

lemme save you some work. Take off your TPS, on the back you will see two plastic locating tabs that center the TPS on the throttle body. The early TPI cars have a problem of when you start modifying them (or sometimes even stock) the TPS curve isn't fast enough to keep up with the airflow coming in so it perceives the airflow to be too great for the TPS position. Cut these locating tabs off, start the bolts back in and adjust the TPS to proper voltage while pulling the TPS as far forward and up on the bolts as you can. This will increase the curve speed and also gain you some WOT voltage which helps for the fuel I'm sure. I had this problem on my 86 car and replaced two MAF's (aftermarket and GM) two ECM's (aftermarket and GM) had my prom checked out, bought a new GM prom, replaced both maf relays, replaced the oil pressure switch and fuel pump relay and replaced several harness connectors and never fixed the problem. My car was sitting getting a 383 and a new chip while someone on here (can't remember who) figured out this repair. My car was cured with the custom 383 chip so I wasn't able to actually do this on my car but many people have fixed theirs this way.
