When im driving at like 30 mph and i nail the gas it revs and seems to stay at like 40 mph until i back off the throttle a bit then it takes off. anybody have an idea?

 

If you have a fuel injected engine, I would start by checking the TPS adjustment. This might be causing your problem. Hope this helps

 

i have a 305 with a q-jet

 

man that sounds familiar to me too - stupid quadrajet - i got the same set up as you, and i too have that problem - occcasionally there is an infintessimle bog that i get, and only starts hauling after the secondaries start to close back
anyways, if anyone has any ideas, i'm open - the only thing i can think to do is to rebuild the carb maybe
