Another Cam Lift/Duration TPI Question?!

Alright guys, I already did the search but never found anything real compelling so here we go.......

I've got a TPI system and want to keep it for a couple of different reasons..... but want to upgrade my heads and cam (I'll probably get a larger base and runners eventually). My question is this;

1) How much duration is useful in a TPI system stock, and upgraded to a Edelbrock base with AS&M runners for more air flow?
2) Would greater lift hurt in any way providing your springs could handle it? I'm pretty sure it won't but gotta ask.......

I was thinking about goin with the S/R Torqer heads with 170 cc intake runners cause they look like a good deal for a tight budget while keeping air velocity high.
By the way, do ya think that the S/R 58cc 305 heads would help with power considering the higher compression ratio? Or would detonation become a problem? Cause they have 170cc intake runners too.
And While I'm talking heads.... how high could I go in intake runner size before it starts to hurt performance (Low/Midrange) Keeping in mind that a TPI system sits on top ........ Now that I got that outta the way..........

Looking at the diferent cams out there I've got a couple of different options....
Comp Cams - 210/220 with .500/510
Accel/Lingenfelter Cams - 211/219 with .503/.525
TPIS Cams - 212/226 with .483/.520
GM ZZ3 - 208/221 with .474/.510
These look like they would do the trick, any other suggestions?

I want a "street car" that makes alot of torque but doesn't have to rev to 6500RPM to make decent HP any suggestions would help at this point. I know it's alot to take in............ Thanks in advance!!!!!

My S/R Torquer 305 heads turned out to be 64cc chambers. This was after porting and polishing, but I didn't remove anything but casting roughness from the chambers. Worked out to 9.7:1 CR with 12cc dish/reliefs pistons, .020" compressed gasket, .026" deck, .030"-over 350 I put them on. I believe stock L98 pistons are 10cc dish/reliefs.

If you go with S/R Torquers, whether 305 or not, if I were you I'd assume a pocket porting job is mandantory, whether you go beyond that is up to you.

I have a bud who put the ZZ9 cam in a ZZ3 crate, but he went nuts on the whole thing - zero-decked, CNC ported heads, gasket-matched TPIS runners/Big Mouth base, then had the plenum/runners/base/heads extrude-honed together. Also required PROM tuning to get it to run decent.

PM'd ya about some stuff I have for sale (that 210/220 cam in particular). That's a great cam for a mild TPI motor. I used it in my higher-revving 305 (LT1 heads and intake).
