i cant read the numbers on my timing marks

Car: 1987 camaro lt
Engine: 305 4 barrel
Transmission: th 700r4
i cant read the numbers on my timing marks

can anyone tell me the corespong numbers for the timing marks on a 87 camaro 305 carburated.i cant get a wire brush down to clean them off cause of the air conditioning compressor.what is the recomended timing for a 305?

It will say on the emissions sticker what to put the timing at, and if your still using an ECM make sure you unplug the connector going to the dizzy.

Factory on my Crapiece was 0° (LG4). I bumped it to 6° advance when I gave it a tune up. Ran a little happier.

As stated, be sure to disconnect the 4 wire weatherpack that runs off the rear of the distributors base to disconnect the EST system.

i cant read the numbers on the marks to tell the degrees do you have a diagram or can you exkain them.

0 will be in the middle. then on each side it will go 4, 8, 12 before and 4, 8, 12 after (TDC). there will be a line between each #.

i have mine set at 6* BTDC (line between 4 and 8).

if im not mistaken is towards the passenger side before tdc
