Some 89s came with them but not all. You have to look. As far as 88-back, there are no "features from the future" on production line cars; unless they've been swapped in as a service item, they don't exist.

9-bolt axles won't go in a 92 rear end though... The spline count coincidence is merely an accidental curiosity.

I know, but the question was "Any '82-89 thirdgen rears with 28 splines...." and 9 bolts were made during part of that time and they had 28 spline axles
