HVAC vacuum Line

Hi all,
I have an Edelbrock Performer intake and a Holly 600 carb on my 86 T/A. My HVAC vacuum canister near the wiper motor is not connected so I don't have vent controls. However there is one plugged vacuum port left on the carb that is really small. Will this produce sufficient vacuum to make the HVAC work properly if I connect a little vacuum line to it?
TIA.

Well, to answer my own question - I tried to hook it up to the port and the HVAC is now getting vacuum. All I have to do is lube uo that little vacuum contol thing with some silicone stuff and I'll be golden.
I post this just in case someone else has a similar problem, so the info is posted.
