The car starts in every gear.

It doesn't attach to the shifter... you unhook it from the old shifter and put it in the full forward position and leave it there. I believe your problem with starting the car in every gear is due to the micro switches on the megashifter... or lack there of. Instead of hooking up the micro switches on my megashifter, I detached the big device on the right side of the shifter with all the wires on it and left the lever on it in the park position and stuffed it under the console out of the way. Saves time cutting and splicing wires and adjusting the micro switches but since the lever is in the park position the car with start regardless of what gear the megashifter is actually in.
