Porting my intake?
Porting my intake?
I've got headers and an exhaust, now untill i can afford to buy that miniram... I'd like to breathe a little better. It's my understanding that the intake and runners are the bottleneck here. What i want to ask is, is it that hard to do? I've got no experience, wait i have less than that. I feen like an infant with a dremel. Should i port it myself? Is it that difficult? What problems can i run into? How will i know once i've ported enough? How much can i expect from a good port and a 52mm tb.
When does need a 58mm tb?

Im not really sure about the porting but i do know that you do not need a 52mm TB. The stock 48 with a air foil should hole you over for quite a while. I have heard that the stock TB with a air foil will hold you until you are pushing 400+ horespower.

I consider this an extreme example, but I ported the heads and TPI intake on my first 350 engine, and gained 40 HP at the rear wheels.
