My new engine was just recently installed and I noticed today that it's blowing bluish white smoke out the tail pipes. The exhaust shop said that this is just moisture in the pipe. The car "smells" a little rich... could this bluish white smoke be caused by the car running rich?? I have pulled a plug yet to see what it looks like but I'll probably do that tomorrow. I also plan to put the car in "field service mode" and see if I can tell from that if it's running to rich or lean. As for the smoke... what could it be??

bluish smoke is oil. if the motor is new, it could be the rings havn't seated. see the shop that built the engine and see if they have any suggestions.

I built the engine... and the motor has less than 50 miles on it so that's probably what it is... thanks. Didn't know what color the smoke was supposed to be.
