cooling rust
cooling rust
ok, my heater control valve or whatever its called got replaced yesterday, then since i had no coolant to really replace it i went to jiffy lube to get it topped off, then, when it exploded onto someguys hand it was all poop colored, so they tried to flush it out and give it some treatment, well, then my poo colored coolant exploded all over some guys head, so today i took out the radiator and took it to get cleaned, i also replaced the thermostat with a higher one (whats the goodness in having a 205* thermostat??) so when im doing all this i notice that everything, i mean everything, inside the tubes inside the thermostat housing, its rusty, and is turning my coolant rusty, what can this do to my engine? should i just change the engine and all the coolant components because im screwed or what?? thanks guys
205 thermostat?? why? u will probably need to have ur coolent system cleaned out with some cooling system cleaner from autozone, or jiffy lube could put some in for you too. just put it in, read the instructions and it should take out ALOT of that gunk. and you need to clean the whole system not just the radiator, goto auto zone and pick up a bottle of COOLENT system cleaner, not radiator cleaner, or 10 minute flush, but an actual cleaner, put that in and drive it for a couple hours or so. let it cool down, flush the system and fill it back up, and u may need to do it again a few more times. and make sure when u fill it back up to put in some corrosion protector.
and keep people from pooping in ur coolent system

For $500, you can get 2 or 3 radiators for one of these cars... try www.radiators.com or www.partsamerica.com
