Hood clearance

Well here is a question. I have an 83 Camaro with a built small block 350. I have a stealth intake and an open element air cleaner. The question I have is there anything I can do to open up the clearance between the air cleaner and the hood. I want to add nos but cant fit the plate under the carb. Is there a specail Air cleaner assembly availible? Or do I have to go with the Top shot system from NOS. Thanks for the help f-body gods. Jered 1983SS

Your options are

put a cowl hood on
get a drop base aircleaner (probably get you an inch)
or mill the intake (not worth it)

PS, NOS makes a kit 05090 that uses the air cleaner stud to hold the spray outlets !!

But, i guess thats the one you were talking about

Thanks for the info, I would have gone with the cowl hood but I just got the car painted with custom stripes on the stock hood so thats out. I think the drop base Air Cleaner is my best bet. I like the top shot Nos kit but the normal plate system seems to give me more options and its cheaper. Thanks agian. Jered 1983SS
