help with question on intake manifold coolant inlet
help with question on intake manifold coolant inlet
I have a 1987 Camaro... tpi and 5.7L engine. Here goes... I'm in the proceess of removing the AIR system... sure looks nice, on the passengers side especially. But that vacuum operated solenoid sitting on top of the valve cover, you know, the one that has the heater hose to the firewall, and the other one coming up to it from the oil cooler line. Well. It has a branch off it to the throttle body coolant line, which I REROUTED as in the thirdgen article, and then routed that line down to the intake manifold as shown...
Now... why? What is that coolant passage, where does it go... is it important?
My goal is to MOVE that dam vacuum solenoid tophat looking thing OFF the valve cover and put it at the back off the firewall, ANYWHERE.... and, I want to remove that smaller hose off it that goes to intake manifold now, you know, the one that used to run up to the throttle body.
Can I do this... please help, guys. My books don't cover this well enough.
Thanks,
