Stripped manifold bolt threads in iron head

I have a 350 from a 74 Vette with cast iron heads and aluminum '70 LT1 manifold. The two center holes on the driver's side have poor threads using the standard length manifold bolts (one completely stripped, one feels weak). For now I have used longer bolts, but even they don't inspire me with a great deal of confidence. There is an air conditioning compressor braket that mounts under these bolts. Should I use the seemingly simple Heli-coil kits from Napa, or is there a better/more permanent way to fix this problem.

Use a heli-coil and when you go to put them in use some red locktite so that they won't push through and they won't turn in the hole when you fix it.
