Valve Springs

I am buying a stock longblock and want to run a nice cam. The lift is what worries me running stock heads though. The longblock is already togeher and I am on an extremely tight budget. Is there a set of springs that will fit the stock spring perch and handle lift up to say .550 or maybe not even that much (.525 maybe). I thought I read about a set that Isky makes maybe? I do not want to start tearing apart the longblock that's already together to machine the heads. Is it possible?

It's not the vavle springs themselves that limits the lift. It's the clearance between the bottom of the retainer and the top of the valve guide boss that creates the issue. The guide bosses need to be machined down.

but assuming that guide clearance is not an issue, yes, there are valve springs that will drop right in. SummitRacing.com lets you specify things like spring height and outside diameter in your search. But like Stekman said, springs are not gonna be the problem.

you're going to need screw in studs and if you do that cutting the spring seats isn't a big deal,
