Whatever you do, DO NOT have your girlfried or wife hang on the plug lead and turn over your engine to check for spark. It really pisses them off and puts them in a foul mood.

If my physics memory serves me right, I think white flames are hotter than blue. I would think that the same would go for electrical sparks. Someone correct me on this if Im wrong, but thats just how Id see it.

What do you mean the white part? You mean the tip where the electricity jumps the gap? Well if its a glossy color (if thats what you mean) It's most likely over heating.
