Oh ****

Well this morning i get in my car ready to go to school and the car wont start, when i turn the key it make a squeeling sound. Kinda like when you turn the key when the engines already running. It will squeek for a second and the stop. I know this is kinda vague but any help would be great. Thanks. Bobby.

Was it raining? Wet belts?

Could be your starter wasn't ligned up.

Hmm... It could be the starter, but it doesn't usually stop shrieking if you hold the key in the start position. If it makes the noise after the engine's started, then goes away, it could be a loose belt.

It's either
1) Your Flywheel which can set up back about 200-300 smackers.
2) It's your starter which could set you back about 120 without labor.

You can get a rebuilt starter from Autozone for $30 w/a lifetime warrenty. I'd say Advance but, they can go f-themselves w/thier starters (I'm not bitter at all towards them ).

Jack the car up & take the flywheels cover off & visually inspect the flywheel for missing teeth.

While you're under there, inspect the starter for cracks too (especially if it's from Advance auto).
