PVC valve help.....

I was wondering what would happen if I did not use a PVC valve? Would it be bad or good? If I can do that should I take off the EGR valve? O yea it is an 86 IROC-Z 305 TPI.

There are no advantages to removing the PCV valve. You'll get a lot of buildup in your engine, plus excess crankcase vapors. So basically that's bad. As for the EGR, you could remove it and put a block-off plate in it's place, but it really won't help with power or gas mileage. What it will do is give you a service engine light.

The PCV valve is nothing but good for you. Don't remove it.

yeah, you can remove the PCV valve (PVC is plastic) but you'll shortly be replacing all the gaskets in your motor after they blow out. Most high performance engines have crankcase ventilation systems that use pumps to relieve pressure, PCV is a downgrade from that. Before PCV they used a downdraft pipe that stuck down under the engine and used the air rushing by the pipe to pull the air out of the engine. PCV sucks not only the pressure out of the crankcase but the volatile fumes which can also ruin gaskets and could possibly cause combustion problems. EGR helps eliminate detonation during street driving by lowering the combustion temperature which also cuts down on power. if you had a car that doesn't get driven that often and you wanted performance, you could block off the EGR but it really wouldn't help any. The only benefit would come if you were to remove the heads and fill the exhaust crossovers to eliminate the center two ports from robbing each other and the turbulence caused by the crossover ports. as well as the heat in the intake manifold. the service engine light should also light too.
