Cam suggestion - would like to bypass EGR

The motor in question is an L98 TPI motor.

I know there are some cams that have enough overlap that will allow me to bypass my EGR valve. This is a concern as I do have to pass a smog test every other year.

What are people running for cams that will provide this overlap? I am interested to hear what people are running.

I wouldnt use the overlap to try to pass emissions. Get the right cam for your combo, tune the motor, and it should do ok.

Edit: You have a 91 with speed density, that will definatly need to be tuned.

if your running a good amount of overlap isn't that going to send raw fuel into the exhuast which should screw your emissions up

Yes, overlap can dump raw fuel down the exhaust. I would worry about this and the other 'real' effects of a larger cam, rather than using a bigger one because of its "EGR effect."

I agree with 24x7. Get the right cam to begin with and tune the crapola out of it.

I would go with a Production LT4 cam, but that just me. My dad has one in a Vortec 365 (offset ground crank, off the shelf pistons) with a Westers HOT tune and it flat gets it.
